The one thing I will always remember about Colours is that ‘kid in a candy store’ feeling when I walked through the door – it was literally like all my Christmases had come at once. On the first floor of a building tucked in an alleyway just off Bergmannstraße 102 in Berlin, Colours is a goldmine for any vintage lover.
You name it – they have it. The store is wall to wall chock full of over 30,000 pieces of vintage clothing, shoes and accessories – half of the stock is priced individually and half by the kilo. For the serious buyers, there is even a vintage happy hour between 11am and 3pm where you can get an extra 30% off the price of your finds. Unfortunately I found the store at 2:50pm – clearly not enough time to shop and get the discount!
The floor space of the store is so big (1,000m2 to be exact) that you will easily lose a few hours rummaging through the endless roller racks of €3 dresses or 4 foot high mounds of denim. There is a collection of leather to die for and a large number of American sports jackets and tees.
And if you get tired after all of that shopping (let’s face it – vintage shopping is exhausting!) there is the most amazing Vietnamese restaurant, Good Morning Vietnam, in the same alleyway. Definitely worth checking out.
